Batiste versus Aussie dry shampoo

I use dry shampoo quite a lot, and have always used Batiste. But I came across Aussie Dry Shampoo, and being a fan of their products decided to give it a try!

Firstly, Batiste. I have only used the original, so I can only give my opinion on that. I'd love to try the others in their range, but it's the only one available in my rural area.

So, you spray it on, massage it in and comb it out. Simples! The smell of Batiste Original isn't the best and it's quite noticeable I find. It lingers too. Then you have the white powdery spray that turns your hair white. This is fine so long as you remember to brush your hair well afterwards! As much as I'm not keen on the smell, it does work! Ideal if I'm rushing off for the school run.

Aussie dry shampoo is much the same. Spray on, massage and comb out. The smell (as with all Aussie products) is divine! And to my surprise....no white powdery stuff on my hair! Yay! However, that's as far as this product goes for me. It didn't make much difference to my hair, and left a sticky stiff residue, which didn't comb out. This surprised me, because as I said I am a HUGE Aussie fan and their products are usually fantastic!

So there we have it...I'll be sticking with Batiste but will continue to use the Aussie wet shampoo and conditioner as they're so luxurious!

Super Mario Memory Challenge Game Review

So my eldest daughter is a huge Mario fan. I didn't want her sat playing a games console ALL the time so I bought her the Super Mario Memory Challenge Game.

It's basically the card game "pairs". So you lay out all the cards and the person who picks the most matching cards or "pairs" wins. A simple but very enjoyable concept!

The cards themselves are sturdy and perfect for smaller hands. They have all the characters in there, which will please Mario fans! There are 72 cards in total. 50 character cards and 20 item cards. The item cards is where this game is a little different. If you make an item match, you then read and perform the action. For example, two fire flowers gives you the power to make another player miss a turn.

I played this with my 7 year old and my 4 year old. Both really enjoyed the game! It states on the box it's from ages 6-99 years, which is about right in my opinion! I think any Mario fan would really enjoy this game. For younger children you can play with a lesser amount of cards.

It's available on Amazon for £30, which is quite pricey I think. But having said that, it's less than you would pay for a console game! I think it's well worth the money if you're buying for a Mario fan :)

It's all about me!

My name is Rebecca and I'm a mum to little girls and a wife to a wonderful hard working husband. I'm 29 (ahem, ok 36....but who's counting anyway). I go online a lot looking for reviews on products and services, so figured why not do a few of my own? In fact, I rely on reviews when I purchase anything from makeup to toys to appliances. An honest review is essential!

So that's basically what this is. A few reviews of products I come across (I enter a few competitions so I am fortunate to be able to try new things for free! Hooray!) Maybe a few ramblings along the way...only time will tell!

Enjoy!

Wet Brush Review

I have two daughters. One with super thick long hair and the other with curly knotty hair. So a good brush is ESSENTIAL. Having heard about the Wet Brush, I decided to give it a try. It comes in various colours, but ordering from Amazon, I didn't get a choice. However it came in a lovely pink color, which suited us perfectly. It cost around £8. But if you shop around you will find the prices do vary.

It comes packaged well. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The handle has a soft non slip feel to it. The "bristles" for want of a better word,  is what it's all about. They look like your normal plastic ones, but in fact they're very flexible. This is what makes it such a good product. As you brush through the hair and a knot is encountered, the bristles flex rather than tugging through the knot.

My daughter aged 4 LOVES this brush. It does exactly what it says. It brushes through hair with barely no pulling on tugging. I tried it on both wet and dry hair and it worked equally on both.

Now, I am a huge fan of the Tangle Teaser also. So I want to point out the differences. The bristles on the Wet Brush are longer, so they are more suited for long or thick hair. They get through the hair much better than the Tangle Teaser. The bristles on the Wet Brush are softer and more flexible. So better suited for children or those with a sensitive scalp. The Wet Brush has a handle, where the Tangle Teaser does not, so much easier to hold and style with. I would say the Wet Brush is a good all rounder, where the Tangle Teaser is more suited to shorter hair.

I would most definitely recommend this product. ESPECIALLY if you have children!
